Why is it important to lift? "Physical strength is the most important
thing in life. This is true whether we want it to be or not. As
humanity has developed throughout history, physical strength has become
less critical to our daily existence, but no less important to our
lives. Our Strength, more than any other thing we possess, still
determines the quality and the quantity of our time here in these
bodies. Whereas previously our physical strength determined how much
food we ate and how warm and dry we stayed, it now merely determines
how well we function in these new surroundings we have crafted for
ourselves as our culture has accumulated. But we are still animals-our
physical existence is, in the final analysis, the one that actually
matters. A weak man is not as happy as that same man would be if he
were strong. The reality is offensive to some people who would like the
intellectual or spiritual to take precedence. It is instructive to see
what happens to these very people as their squat strength goes up."

6 AM is clearly the new hot time to CF! Thanks Jim, Chip and Erin for a great morning workout. It was an educational session that gave me a better understanding of some areas I need to work on. Now I need to practice them so I don't forget!

Great Job Everyone. That was a strong 6AM class. Chip Erin and Janice moved alot of weight today.
Erin, remember you benched and jerked before you cleaned today. and you were still able to PC 125, damn good work.

Eric, it is frequently surprising what new and interesting muscles you learn you have after one of these devilish WODs!
Posted by: Janice | February 04, 2010 at 09:42 AM
Janice, It is not only surprising what new and interesting muscles you learn after a WOD, it's also the new and interesting words directed towards the WODs and the coaches we love. For instance:
"Crapeweasel that was a tough WOD"
"Shitfirefuck, I can't do one more pullup"
"Wait, another DeathBy? That's a real wizzerpiss"
See, it's easy....would like to see what other creative descriptive words other Crossfitters come up with...

lol!!BRad ur crazy, Me and Jessica particularly like "shitfirefuck"

That's what we love about you Brad! Weezerpisswr? I feel so boring using my usual expletives. I will have to pay closer to what everyone else is saying. Hmmm, maybe this calls for a team WOD when you get back!

Great work a.m. crew!! Very nice WOD Jim, i'm definitely a fan of moving HEAVY things...there is no substitute!! I already hit some of those moves earlier in the week so i made up my own thing:
Weighted pull ups
60*3, 70*3, 75*3
Bench
185*3, 195*3, 200*2
AMRAP 12min:
3 thruster at 135
6 ring dip
9 knee to elbow
20 double unders
6 rounds + 3 thrusters
p.s. Don't buy a buddy lee jump rope!! On #3 or 4 of the last round as i was whipping it around the end plastic thing just broke off for no apparent reason! Luckily we had a standard rope i was able to run over and grab to finish up with. Piece of crap!!
